Parking Lot Etiquette
As we settle into our routine, please revisit our parking lot and drop-off procedures to ensure the safety of every child.
While most families have been following the procedures beautifully, there have been several recent safety concerns. A few drivers have been moving too quickly through the lot, walking children in unsafe areas, or attempting to form two lanes of oncoming traffic instead of one. Convenience should never outweigh safety. Please take a moment to carefully review the procedures below and share them with anyone who may drop off or pick up your child.
Drop-Off Procedures (all grades, including preschool)
- Use the designated drop-off zone. At least three staff members will be present each morning to help your child exit safely.
- Follow the coned lane. Cones mark the correct path through the dropoff area.
- Exit through the third lane—not the last one. This helps maintain a one-way flow and prevents congestion.
- Stay in your car. Please have your child’s backpack and belongings ready to go (not in the trunk) so that dropoff can move safely and efficiently.
- After 9:00 a.m., please park and walk your child to the main entrance (front door) by security.
Walk-Up Option
Families who prefer to walk their child to the side door may park in the last two lanes of the parking lot. These lanes are reserved for walkers and are closed to through traffic. Please use crosswalks and remain alert to moving vehicles.
Our parking lot is busiest between 8:45 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., so a few extra minutes of patience go a long way. Please drive slowly, yield to pedestrians, and allow time for others to safely pass before moving forward. Together, we can keep our arrival routines calm, respectful, and—most importantly—safe for all students
